  I've given this place quite a few chances. Half the time the coffee tastes burned. If you order cold coffee, it is likely just hot coffee poured over ice and ends up being lukewarm, watered down coffee. Their smoothies are made from powder. The pastries are very hit or miss. Many of them taste like straight-up eggs or are very bland. As far as veggies, if you order a panini with mushrooms, you will get very oily mushrooms that are not fresh. I really like to support local businesses but I'd really rather go to Starbucks down the street over this place.

  We have been coming here for a number of years now from when it was barely known to when it has been densely packed and overcrowded. Glad to see the new setup has more seating. Not glad to see they now have menus (for counter service?!), a new display case that you can't see through at all (unless they keep the whole restaurant cold ), and terrible burnt coffee. The first two are really forgivable but there's no excuse for burning the espresso used in the drinks. The food and baked goods are still outstanding, though. If they fix the coffee, I'll update my review.

  Highest quality authentic French-style ingredients. Only place in Austin to get galettes (savory buckwheat crêpes as in Brittany and Normandy). Great walnut bread. Fancy French pastries.
